So here's what I'm expecting for African Kingdoms. AoAK better provide some real options and maybe a few gameplay tweaks, and it will only be worth a few dollars no matter what simply because it's an addition.
UP took care of other bugs, while AoFE used that and added a few average civs. AoC added some awesome ones and a few gameplay tweaks. Frankly the biggest thing to me are the new civs in an expansion. This is only an expansion to the game, not a new game. Maybe I should have given it another chance. The Vlad Dracula campaign first scenario bored me after the first minute. The teaser campaign that came with AoFE for the CD version- the first scenario was nothing like an ES campaign. It didn't have any personality or storyline really. The (ludakris sized?) map for the Forgotten battle with the Vikings for a standard build-and-destroy mission was annoying. Of the several that I sampled from AoF, I wasn't impressed. Africa- don't remember much about it from history (probably because AoC didn't have it, lol) so I look forward to learning! I love all things AoK, so I will give this a try! I like how they're keeping the game in the attention of the players. Is this a bad idea? Is there are price cap for what you are willing to pay for this expansion? Do you think this will change the game any if at all? Do you think competitive players will pick up this expansion and include it in their play? I thought this was very interesting, and despite my dislike for the steam version of the game, I thought that the additional civs would be kinda cool and would add another dimension to the game. We’ll certainly cover more of those in extended detail in future posts, but we wanted to make sure you didn’t miss out on some possible speculation 😉 As well as little hints for further additions to the game. Recently a friend of mine brought to my attention a notice on page announcing the following: First and foremost, the name is out! Age of Empires II HD: The African Kingdoms will be the name of the new expansion pack, coming out later this year on Steam.Īdditionally, a new civ has been announced, including a small teaser video with further information regarding the Malians and the Berbers.
